T
he Calvin Klein man that Italo Zucchelli envisioned for the label's Spring 2012 collection is modern, minimalist, and athletic. The collection was dominated by sportswear, in chartreuse, slate blue, steel grey, black, navy, and white, featuring cutting with an almost scientific precision: textured, waffle-weave suits, polos, t-shirts, tracksuits, sweatpants, sports coats, and mesh-detailed tank tops.
Light, summery shorts that hit just below the knee were juxtaposed alongside sports coats, high socks, and mesh tops for a casual, athletic look.
However, the most important trend the collection established was in caped outerwear: long, belted coats, and shorter, zippered, and sportier jackets.

At first glance, the shoes at Calvin Klein look like something that came straight out of a work of dystopian literature; however, upon further inspection, one notices the thoughtful and innovative design, and appreciates the mechanical point of view, such as in the functionality of the soles, which is often overlooked.
